My Story

I’m Persistence Virtual Assistant, Kacoya White. I have 15 years of healthcare and business workflow experience in specialty practices. Small businesses hire me to be their part-time, “business manager and virtual assistant”. I live in Georgia with my husband and 3 kids.

Here’s my story:

I spent the first 6 years in healthcare working as a medical biller. I managed the billing department and trained new hires, and spoke with pharmaceutical companies about different pain medications.

For the next 9 years I held 3 positions – Business Office Associate, Practice Liaison, Physician Practice Coordinator, and Interim Manager at 3 specialty offices. I did payroll, travel coordination, staffing and front office reorganization, State compliance, expense reports, email management, Invoicing, contracting, scheduling, and attorney requests. Basically anything that would keep the organization running.

I had lots of projects while working there and had the chance to work with some amazing people who helped me along the way.

In 2020 my life changed abruptly. I lost my job. I did not want to go back to the office setting. I knew I had to make a change in my life and that  it was time for me to start my own business.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do. But I knew I loved helping others and so one day I said, “I’m going to do hair”. I started promoting my hair business on social media and the clients started calling and making their appointments.

As a first time entrepreneur I was loving the work-life flexibility but I still felt that I should have been doing something else. After several months of praying, searching, and networking a client invited me to a group on Facebook. There were a few posts about Virtual Assistant. I immediately went on Google to research more information.

After launching my own business and knowing that I’ve always been the one that friends, family, and former coworkers come to when they need help with a project, I run Persistence Virtual Assistant.

Launched in 2022, Persistence Virtual Assistant is hired by small businesses to act as their virtual assistant, helping them make more money, more efficiently, and with less stress.
